Nashville Civic Design Center DADU

Welcome!

Welcome to our webpage for the DADU senior design project, sponsored by the Nashville Civic Design Center. If you are in a rush, here is a brief summary of our project.

Introduction to DADUs

DADU stands for Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit. DADUs are equivalent to the recent fad “tiny homes” or “in-law units.” They are environmentally-friendly homes that are typically in the backyard of a single-family home, are one story, and are studio-style or a 1 bedroom home. DADUs are very useful for housing elderly family members, college-aged children, Airbnb guests, or rentals (i.e. to college students). Many people are very intrigued by DADUs but don’t have the time to set aside into researching all of the aspects related to designing and building one. This page will explain the necessary components related to financing and building a great investment for your property, a DADU.
