Updated Functionality: Automated Position Numbers in Core HR

Updated functionality for position numbers to be automatically assigned has been enabled in Oracle HCM as of June 1st, eliminating the process of manually obtaining and entering position numbers when creating new positions.

 

Automated Position Numbering

Position numbers are now automatically assigned during the process of creating a new position.  The below image provides a sample of the impacted screen within Workforce Structures:

Following this update, HCM Specialists will no longer need to:

  • Access the shared database to obtain a sequential position number (or request a position number from the HR team); or
  • Manually enter position numbers.

 

Note that the processes and other data inputs required for creating new positions remain and completing position changes are not affected by this update.
