Protocol PDF Document (version 1.2): AC
Instructions:
- Create one sagittal seed region and draw two separate regions: one on the left side (at approx. sagittal slice 76) and right side (at approx. sagittal slice 80), at the red dot. Then run fiber tracking. Based on this output, ROA placement will be clearer.[2]
- Create one ROA (exclusion) region and draw three different regions:
- on a coronal slice anterior to the seed regions (at approx. coronal slice 48)
- on an axial slice inferior to the seed region
- on an axial slice superior to the seed region
- In the region list, check the seed and ROA regions.Perform fiber tracking.
- Under the tract list, make sure only the desire tract is checked and highlighted in purple. Save regions, tract, and density files.

[2] It was not necessary to create two separate adjacent seed regions, therefore, one seed region one two different slices will be create.
These two seeds regions are adjacent and the structure is not being separated into right and left pieces, correct? I suggest we use a single seed region here that is drawn across both sides of the midline.
I agree with Baxter – single seed is maybe just as appropriate (or whole brain seeding with AC as ROI). I’m not Sure the definition of the AC is restricted to such a narrow connections S/I? May also be anterior connections (see Catani) to consider in future iterations
“ Create one sagittal seed region and draw two separate regions” – this is really confusing. Maybe using “Seed ROI” to denote the formal, named DSI studio ROIs, then using “region” to only reference the informal areas on the volume that we’re drawing would be a little clearer? I had to read this several times to realize that it was asking for a single ROI that was made up of 2 drawn regions, instead of 3 separate ROIs. So then it could be worded “create a sagittal seed ROI by drawing 2 separate regions”.
Same comment for the later ROA description. “ Create one ROA (exclusion) region and draw three different regions”
